This is no place for greenhorns. Are you of legal drinking age?

Looks like you haven’t got your ticket yet.
See you when you’re 21.

CHEERS TO THOSE WHO MEASURE TIME BY THE grit of their hands NOT THE HANDS OF A CLOCK

How it tastes

Each batch has a spicy, rich flavor that's a bit complex, with a smokiness that pairs nicely with the cracks in your palms and your “get it done” attitude. Pretty much the perfect end to a long day.

Where it’s from

Our Five Nine whiskey is a Kentucky straight bourbon, distilled in Owensboro, Kentucky, where whiskey has been made since the 1800s. Safe to say this place knows whiskey.

How it’s made

Aged for a minimum of two years in new, charred white oak barrels, Five Nine is a 90 proof, Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey bottled at 45% ABV and made using a 21% rye mash bill.

Five Nine Recipes

Whistle Bit

Our favorite thing mixed with our 2nd favorite thing.

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 oz Five Nine Bourbon
  • ½ oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • 2 dashes of bitters (optional if you’re already feeling bitter enough)
  • 2 bottles of lager beer
  • 2 lemon slices
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Combine the bourbon, lemon juice, honey and bitters in a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake it until the honey dissolves.
  3. Divide between two beer glasses, top with the beer.
  4. Throw the lemon slices on top like the world’s most refreshing lawn darts.

Punch out

Refreshing. Like a paid day off in a glass.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 ¼ oz Five Nine Bourbon
  • 3 oz lemonade
  • 1 oz ginger ale
  • Lemon slice
  • Sprig of mint
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Add all the ingredients into your favorite drinking jar or high glass over ice.
  2. Garnish with the lemon and mint and, if possible, a fishing boat.

Fogline

Like a good night out, it’s got a bit of sweet, a bit of sour, and a healthy amount of bourbon.

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 oz Five Nine Bourbon
  • 1 oz honey syrup*
  • ¾ oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Lemon Slice
*We know this is a bit of extra work — but since when is a Five-Niner afraid of a bit of work? Half honey, half water — heat it up until the honey dissolves then let it cool.
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Combine the bourbon, honey syrup and lemon juice in a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake it.
  3. Strain it into a chilled rocks glass over the biggest ice cube you can fit in there.
  4. Add the lemon, because scurvy is still out there.

Old Fashioned

A good Old Fashioned is kind of like overtime. It’s a bit of extra work, but it’s worth it.

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 oz Five Nine Bourbon
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • 3 dashes bitters
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • Orange peel
  • 1 maraschino cherry
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Add the sugar and the bitters to an old fashioned glass (a new glass works too), then add the water and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Fill the glass with large ice cubes, add the bourbon, stir gently to combine.
  3. Zest the oil from the orange peel over the drink, then chuck the orange peel in. Waste not.
